Louis Farrakhan rallied all the black people because they were being discriminated against and felt repressed. You can only imagine from the questions on this forum and this is suppose to be an enlightened age of tolerance.

So there was a mass movement to join the Islamic religion.

It was a teenage break away rebellion thing.

then there was a large immigration into the USA from the middle east because of the wars that seamed to erupt continually. They went about building Mosques and opening up the way for people who felt discriminated against by the European population that seemed in control.

Until now there is a large population of Muslims in the USA.

It was build on the idea of people being oppressed by the white men in power, so they now had their own organization where they felt safe and protected.

A famous man at the time Caious Clay became a Muslim and also became Mohammad Allie the famous boxer.

All young black men joined the movement they finally had power and a powerful figure to look up to. No longer would the white establishment pick on them. The Vietnam war was a very unpopular war and thousands were dieing. Mohammad Allie was drafted to go to war, he stated those people haven't done anything to me. they never called me a niger. so I am not going and he went to jail. I had to admire him for that. Even though he was a fighter he knew that was not right. Today he is an old man as the rest of us are.

But that got the movement started until today it is a large segment of the population in the US.

9-11
satan
I agree 9/11.
The freedom of religion. Should have rewritten that one.
Founding of large amounts of oil in Saudi Arabia. Support of Israel over Palestine over boarder disputes. The whole Iran thing in the late 70's which I don't know much about have contributed to the feelings of ill-will between US %26amp; MidEast
The U.S.'s backing of the state of Israel in 1948, It's CIA orchestrated coup in Iran in 1953, the ousting of the shah of Iran and the seizing of American hostages in the 1970's, The presence of U.S. troops in Beirut in the 1980's, The support of Saddam Hussein in the 1980's, It's continued backing of Israel at the expense of the Palestinian people, Gulf war, 9/11, the war in Iraq, and finally it's continued backing of the Israeli state. I'm not an anti-Semite, but when you take someone's land and call it someone else's because an old book says it's theirs, there is something wrong with that picture....
Recently it's difficult to think of a more important envent than Sept 11, 2001
We studied that? Islamic religion has been in the USA long before 9/11 happened. There are mosques build all over the USA. What Ruth said, it was about Louis Farrakhan preaching about the discrimination against blacks by white people. It was pretty much build up on the hate for white people. About that time was the black panthers and stuff like that. Now in Los Angels they have gangs that are very powerful. It is in the Islamic religion. Which seems to be a religion that says we hate white people thing.

I guess it is where all the minorities get together to say we hate whites. Can't say as I blame them they have been discriminated against. Just read some of the racist questions on this web site. If I was black I would hate whites to.
there is about 800 Islamic centers in the USA the largest in Detroit Michigan. So they have been around a lot longer than since 9/11 it is just that before then no one noticed them.

They were quietly adding converts of discontented minorities. who joined as a way to rebel against the establishment they felt was making all the rules and oppressing them. There is now millions of Muslims in the US.

With one theme, "we hate whites"
