What song recounts the events of the 60's and maybe 70's?

I remember being in History class in high school (9 years ago) where a video was played about the 60's and 70's. The song that played during the video talked about war and maybe jfk's death and many other events around then. I believe it was a politically charged song against war and the times. I think it may have had the word revolution in it. Thanks if anyone can help I know its a pretty vague question.

Could be "Abraham, Martin and John" by Dion or "Revolution" by The Beatles.
